I’m about to embark on a journey that I never thought I’d take. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, yet the constraints of life have prevented me from pursuing my passion. Responsibilities like looking after a loved one always took precedent.

After more than 10 years of going through the storms of life, the most recent one being several months ago, the dark cloud suddenly pulled back and the sunrays came through. It was an opportunity that came in the midst of trials and after years of persevering with God, and it was now up to me to say, “Yes, thank You, Lord”, rather than to say I can’t, or I’m afraid, or even…I’m too old for this.

My passion for cooking started in my early teens, and I have experimented with all kinds of cooking ever since: Nonya, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Italian, Pacific Rim, Mexican, French, you name it. Many years ago, I had wanted to go to a Cordon Bleu School, but couldn’t afford to. Now, in less than 2 months, I’m going to a Culinary Institute in Italy to do a Master’s Course where I’ll study regional Italian Cuisine.

So, I’ve decided to blog my journey to share with you my passions(also includes photography) and what I’ve learnt, in hopes that I can also fan the flames of passion in you for good food and life, and to inspire you to look at life positively, and step out of your comfort zone to pursue your passions too.

So let’s seize the day!

This blog records journal entries from 3 areas. The first area is the culinary journals which tracks my journey through a master’s course in a culinary school. The second area is a food journal recording my experiences and comments on food sampled during my food hunt when I’m not on course. The last area relates to my other passion – photography, travel photography in particular.

If you share similar interests, I’ll be glad to hear from you.
